Opposition slams Modi over his live Teachers' Day address to students

A row has broken out over the Human Resource and Development (HRD) Ministry's directive on the compulsory viewing of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Teachers Day speech by school students across the country. The opposition slammed the government directive and said that schools and parents will be inconvenienced by this directive.

A number of private schools termed the initiative as "good and positive", but they feel making the necessary arrangements for showing the address to the students will put lot of burden on the teachers and they will not be able to celebrate the day.  Read more
