Gunfight between militants and security forces in south Kashmir

A gunfight erupted on Monday evening between holed up militants and security forces in south Kashmir Pulwama district.

A senior police officer said troops of the Rashtriya Rifles and police surrounded a house in the Hanjan Bala village in Rajpora on specific information about the presence of a group of militants inside it.

"An encounter is on,' said the officer.
