Modi government missing at Indira Gandhi's memorial

The nation today remembered former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on her 30th death anniversary with President Pranab Mukherjee, Vice President Hamid Ansari and other leaders paying tributes to her. 

Mukherjee, Congress President Sonia Gandhi and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh paid floral tributes at Shakti Sthal, the memorial of Indira Gandhi. 

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi and other senior party leaders Motilal Vora, M Veerappa Moily, Sushil Kumar Shinde, Ahmed Patel, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Digvijay Singh and Shakeel Ahmad also paid tributes to Indira Gandhi.

Several leaders from Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee were also present.

Devotional songs were played at the venue. A speech made by Gandhi was also played on the occasion. 

People, who visited Shakti Sthal here, raised slogans in favour of Indira Gandhi.

No member of the Narendra Modi government was present at the memorial.

Indira Gandhi was assassinated by her bodyguards on October 31, 1984.
