Cyclone Nilofar will weaken when it reaches Gujarat: Met

Update on Cyclone Nilofar: Manoroma Mohanty, Director MET, says rainfall will be experienced in coastal Saurashtra, Kutch and north Gujarat today with heavy rainfall in some parts. Cyclone Nilofar has formed a depression when it reaches north Gujarat coast and damage will be less.

Right now, Cyclone Nilofar is at the central Arabian Sea and till the time it reaches north Gujarat coast, it will weaken and form a depression.

The National Disaster Response Force has deployed 14 rescue and relief teams with boats and other flood rescue equipment as proactive measure to mitigate the situation during cyclonic storm Nilofar which is expected to hit the Gujarat coast on Friday.
