Friend of Boston marathon bombing suspect convicted

A federal jury found Robel Phillipos, a friend of alleged Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, guilty of lying to federal agents who were investigating the deadly explosions. After 35 hours of deliberations over six days, the 12-member panel convicted the 21-year-old of two counts of making false statements for five separate lies he had told. Sentencing has been slated for January 29, 2015.
