The writing was on the wall for a reapproachment between Sena, BJP

A softening of the stance between the two erstwhile allies (BJP, Shiv Sena) was visible on Friday. The Shiv Sena talked of some possibility of reconciliation with the  BJP in an editorial in the Saamna.

"Maharashtra needs stability and peace and for that some compromises may have to be reached. Let us see what numbers come out on Sunday."

The softening of the stance came after exit poll surveys in Maharashtra predict that the BJP will be the largest single party in the state assembly and will be in striking distance of establishing a complete majority in the house.

However, figures today indicate that the BJP is unlikely to get a majority in the state and will need an alliance partner to form government.
