TN announces Rs 5 crore aid, power poles for AP

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister O Panneerselvam today announced an assistance package to cyclone ravaged Andhra Pradesh, including an aid of Rs 5 crore, electrical poles, devices and a team of Highway officials to clear uprooted trees.

Besides the financial aid, Andhra Pradesh will be provided 5,000 electrical poles, 10,000 insulators, 100 transformers and other power accessories to help it rebuild its power infrastructure hit by cyclone Hudhud.

"These will be sent to Andhra Pradesh immediately," the Chief Minister said.
