PM Modi's diktat for government officials
October 04, 2014 17:24
No more foreign postings for government officials above the age of 55, says the prime minister.
The reason being is that at 55 an all India service officer attains the rank of additional secretary. He or she is therefore likely to spend 3 years on an international posting, at the World Bank, IMF, Asian Development Bank.
Once the officer is back he can put all his learning to use in India.
With this new diktat there won't be any possibility of a post-retirement assignment for the officer at the World Bank or IMF.
