Bihar announces compensation for stampede victims

Hours after 32 people died in a stampede at Gandhi Maidan during Vijaya Dashmi celebrations, the Bihar Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi announced compensation of Rs 3 lakh to next of kin of the dead, Rs 50,000 to seriously injured and Rs 20,000 to the injured.
