Jaya may abscond, hamper trial: Public Prosecutor

A Correspondent in Bangalore:

The Special Public Prosecutor while opposing J Jayalalithaa's bail plea stated that there is a likelihood of her absconding if granted bail. Special PP Bhavani Singh also stated in his objections that if she is granted bail she could hamper the appeal and its hearing.

Further the objections also state that she is a very influential person and once the trial court has sentenced to four years imprisonment, the verdict needs to be honoured during the pendency of the appeal.
