Infiltration bid at LoC foiled, terrorist nabbed

Mukhtar Ahmad/Rediff.com reports: In the second encounter today, the army has foiled an infiltration bid on the Line of Control (LoC) in the frontier Poonch district of Jammu region this morning and arrested a militant.
"The infiltration bid was foiled near the Leharan Company Operating Base in Lam Battalion area at around 06:30 hours. Our alert troops noticed suspicious movement near LoC," a defence spokesman said in a statement.
"The troops responded immediately and in the ensuring cordon and search caught an individual with one AK 47 with 30 rounds, one Pakistan-made pistol and Rs 8100 Pakistan currency. The individual is Adul Qayoomi alias Punjabi resident of Leheran. Detailed search is in progress,' the spokesman said.
