Just in: The army has denied a report that an officer was killed in an encounter with militants in the Arnia sector of Jammu.

Rediff.com has learnt that there have been no casualties so far.  Mukhtar Ahmad/Rediff.com reporting from Srinagar says that the encounter between a group of militants and security forces is still on. Militants attacked a bunker in the Kathar area in the sector this morning.

"A gunfight is on in the area. More reinforcements have been rushed there," a senior police officer said.

Three security personnel, including a JCO, and a civilian were injured in a fierce encounter with infiltrating militants.
