Fire tenders try to douse flames at hydropower station in Baramullah

A major fire has shut down Uri-II power project, a hydro-power generating station in Baramullah in north Kashmir. The fire was detected early this morning and fire tenders have reached the spot. The 240-megawatt station located near the Line of Control had been inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. A senior government official speaking to Rediff.com, said they were having difficulty in entering the complex as the entry is through a tunnel.
