Rampal ashram siege: All bodies handed over to police

Bodies of the four women were handed over to police by the staff of 'godman' Rampal's ashram in Barwala in Hisar and two other sick persons, including an infant, were taken to a hospital were they died, police said today.

The ashram authorites handed over the bodies of four women, including that of a 70-year-old, Haryana DGP S N Vashisht told a press conference today.

The women whose bodies have been handed over were identified as Savita (31) of Delhi, Santosh (45) of Rohtak, Raj Bala (70) of Bijnore and Malikit Kaur (50) of Sangrur in Punjab. Besides this, 20-year-old Rajni, who was in a serious condition having a heart ailment, was rushed to Hisar hospital from the ashram at around 4 am, but she died there four hours later, the DGP said.

A one-and-a-half year-old, whose father's name was Vipin Pratap Singh, also died as he was suffering from congenital jaundice. Vashisht said police will investigate all deaths to ascertain the exact cause.
