Main accused in Burdwan blast case gives police the slip
November 19, 2014  16:41
Sahanur Alam, one of the main accused in the Burdwan blast case, gave police the slip in Assam's Dhubri district in the early hours today when an operation was launched to catch him.

However, police arrested two of his accomplices Abdur Nur and Sahanur Ali. They are suspected to have links with the jihadi network.

The security forces, based on specific input, set up a raid in the house of a local teacher, who is a distant relative of Sahanur, after receiving information that the most-wanted jihadi was hiding in the house.

Fugitive Sahanur is believed to be looking for an escape route to Bangladesh.

The area from where he fled shares borders with Meghalaya and Bangladesh and a search has been launched to trace him.
