Ignored by the Devendra Fadnavis government in Maharashtra, the Shiv Sena has raised the pitch of its criticism against the party. The Sena today asked how the BJP could take support from the NCP if Maharashtra had not voted for the NCP.

Things came to a head after Sena president Uddhav Thackeray addressed a meeting of party legislators last night where it was decided that the party would vote against the BJP when the trust vote came up today. The NCP has said that it will vote for the BJP. The trust vote is expected to happen post lunch.

The BJP on its part said the decision of the Sena, with which it had an alliance for 25 years in Maharashtra, was not in the state's interest.
