Brother of Burdwan blast mastermind arrested in Bangladesh port town

The brother of the suspected kingpin of the Burdwan blast, Sheikh Sadiq alias Sajid, has been arrested in Bangladesh's Narayanganj port town, officials said.

"We have arrested Sadiq's brother Mohammad Monayem from Farazikanda in Narayanganj early this morning," an official said.

The elite anti-crime Rapid Action Battalion arrested Monayem in an overnight raid three days after the West Bengal police nabbed Sajid, a member of Bangladesh's banned militant outfit Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen, whom the National Investigation Agency earlier described him as the "chief of the Burdwan module".
