Lt Gen Zameer Uddin Shah vice chancellor Aligarh Muslim University says reports that named him as saying that there would be "four times more boys" in the library if girls were allowed in, were false.

Attempting to clarify the report, he tells ANI, "We are not at all sexist, we want women empowerment, certainly dont want to segregate our girls.
These reports are completely wrong."

He added, "I said there is not space for even a single seat in that library. That library cannot accommodate more students, also all the books in that library are available online.

"Students also face trouble in travelling due to chain snatchers as library is far from college, we can't ignore this fact," he said.
