8 women die, 15 critical after sterilisation camp in Chhattisgarh

NDTV reports: Eight women have died and 15 others are in serious condition after sterilization surgeries were conducted on them at a family planning camp organized by the Chhattisgarh government in Bilaspur three days ago.

More than 80 women underwent sterilization surgeries at the camp.

The camp was held in Pendari area of Takhatpur in Bilaspur, which the home district of Health Minister Amar Agarwal.

Bilaspur is about 110 km away from state capital Raipur.
