I&B minister Jaitley will also be government's spokesperson

Finance minister Arun Jaitely who is also handling the I&B portfolio now, is being designated as spokesperson to the Union Government. A
notification to this effect is being issued soon.

Jaitley will not only brief the media about the decisions of the Union Cabinet but also speak to various TV news channels and newspaper editors regularly and so, probably lessen the Modi government's mandate to keep the press at a distance.
