UP power cuts: BJP says SP deliberately doing it due to poll loss

Power cuts in Uttar Pradesh after May 16 have been making life tough for people. While the BJP has alleged that the SP is extracting the price of its defeat from the people, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has clarified that power cuts have not been driven by any ulterior motive and that the government is committed to the welfare of the people.

 

RP Sahu, who runs a bakery shop in Lucknow, was elated after a 'chai wallah' became the Prime Minister of the country. However, his joy was short lived. Post elections, Lucknow has been hit by severe power cuts and Sahu's business has taken a major hit. Severe power cuts have also hit Noida, Ghaziabad and even Varanasi from where Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the MP.

 

Vidyut Upabhokta Parishad president Avdesh Verma defended the power crisis citing the system failures, which, he further said, happens during every summer season. The government figures supporting Avdesh Verma's statement say that the state of Uttar Pradesh is going through a power crisis while the BJP has hit out at the SP.
