Why Modi fasted on his swearing-in day

On Monday, the day of his swearing-in as prime minister, Narendra Modi was fasting, as it was 'Pradhosham', the holy time between 4.30 and 6 pm on the evening of trayodasi which is considered sacred for Lord Shiva. The belief goes that whoever prays to Lord Shiva in that time will see their wishes granted.
