Titlagarh in Odisha records 45.6 degree C

Odisha's industrial town of Titlagarh today recorded 45.6 degree as the entire western region of the state reeled under heat wave conditions. The met office, however, forecast a thunder squall accompanied with hail at one or two places in the state.

The other western Odisha places which recorded temperature above 40 degree C include Bhawanipatna (44.6), Sambalpur (43.8), Malkangiri and Sonepur (43.5), Balangir and Sundergarh (43), Hirakud (42.3), Jharsuguda (41.9), Keonjhargarh (41.4) and Talcher (40).

The state government has so far confirmed death of 22 persons due to sunstroke.
