Nagaland Governor Ashwani Kumar appoints TR Zeliang as the new Chief Minister of the state.

Nagaland chief minister Neiphiu Rio will officially resign today. Sources in Delhi and Kohima said the outgoing chief minister returned to the state capital on Thursday after hectic parleys in Delhi for a berth in Modi's BJP-led NDA government. Rio is likely to meet governor Ashwani Kumar to put in his papers.
