LIVE! BJP wants merger of Lok Sabha TV, Rajya Sabha TV

Informed sources tell us that the BJP leadership wants a merger of Lok Sabha Television and Rajya Sabha television, which will then be called 'Parliament TV'.

A decision to this effect will be taken soon after the Union Budget in July. The speaker of Lok Sabha and the chairman of Rajya Sabha will take a final call on the issue.

BJP insiders allege the blackout of the Telangana debate by Lok Sabha TV was intentional -- a CCTV installed in the main studio captured the action of a senior official, in effect, pulling out the plug.
