Pakistan foreign office holds press conference. Pakistan likely to announce a representative. Still no decision on whether Pak PM Nawaz Sharif will attend Narendra Modi's swearing-in ceremony on Monday.
The Pak foreign office says that it is a normal practice for the head of government to nominate someone if he or she cannot attend. "We have expectations from the Indian government. Expectations of peace so that we can focus on development. We also expect betterment of the south Asia region. We expect that when the new government takes over there will be a meaningful dialogue that will resolve the outstanding disputes within the two countries."
