Where will Sonia Gandhi sit in the new Lok Sabha?

That the 16th Lok Sabha won't have a Leader of the Opposition since none of the non-NDA parties has secured 54 seats (10 pc of the Lok Sabha's strength) is well-known, but what is not is the seating arrangement that is being worked out in the House.

Specifically, where will Congress president Sonia Gandhi, who occupied the front row on the treasury benches in the 15th Lok Sabha, sit, now that she will be on the other side?

Sources say Gandhi will be given the fifth row, as per the seating arrangements being worked out by the Lok Sabha Secretariat. Major factors are involved in this seat-allocation exercise, including the number MPs that parties have. Incidentally, if you have not noticed this on Lok Sabha TV, there are 11 rows in the Lok Sabha seating 543 members.
