Revenue secretary maybe shunted out
May 20, 2014  18:27
At the height of electioneering, Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala decided to release a photograph showing Narendra Modi with an alleged hawala operator Afroz Fatta.

Now that elections are over, the votes have been counted and Modi has been appointed prime minister and is awaiting his swearing-in, the Fatta incident has come back to Revenue Secretary Rajiv Takru.

Reason: The Gujarat chief ministers office had unconfirmed reports that the photograph was given to Ahmed Patel by Takru, who is a 1979 batch IAS
officer from the Gujarat cadre.

And sources suggest that Takru, who took over as revenue secretary only two months ago, will be shifted out of the revenue ministry.

Another shunting out could be that Dr K P Krishnan, additional secretary, capital markets, in the department of economic affairs.
