SC stays trial in Italian marines case

The Supreme Court stays the trial of the two Italian Marines before a special court in the fishermen killing case. The SC has sought the Centre's response on a plea by the Italian marines challenging the jurisdiction of the NIA to prosecute and probe the case. The Supreme Court has deferred the scheduled proceedings of March 31 before the special court set up to carry out the trial in the case.

Meanwhile, Italy has said it will not participate in the trial of the two marines in India.
