Army chief briefs Antony on Kathua encounter

Army chief Gen Bikram Singh briefs Defence Minister AK Antony on the ongoing encounter in Jammu, a Defence Ministry official, has said.

One person was killed and three others were injured after a terror attack in Dayalachak in Kathua, Jammu and Kashmir early this morning.

A senior police officer said four heavily-armed terrorists stopped a vehicle on the Jammu-Pathankot national highway and opened fire at the occupants of the vehicle, killing one person on the spot and seriously injuring three others.

According to reports, the terrorists were wearing Army uniforms. the gunmen later fled in the same vehicle.
