March 27, 2014  11:21
The Supreme Court has begun the final hearing on the IPL spot-fixing case, even as the BCCI gives its proposal before the court assuring it of initiating disciplinary proceedings on the basis of recommendations of the Mudgal committee report.

The BCCI says it is ready to take action against those who figure in the Mudgal report. The BCCI told the Supreme Court, "We want the IPL betting probe to be be carried out and have to think hard on what is in the best interest of cricket. Investigations will be carried out on the basis of the Mudgal report."

The BCCI has said that N Srinivasan, the head of the BCCI,  will step down to ensure a fair probe into illegal betting during last year's IPL. Offering a time-bound inquiry to be conducted by the Chennai police , the board requested the court not to curtail Srinivasan's hefty role in international cricket.
