Fractured mandate will be worst for country: Jaitley
March 25, 2014  23:00
BJP leader Arun Jaitley today said a fractured mandate after the General Elections will be the worst thing to happen for the country as tough decisions would not be possible.

"The worst thing that could happen to India after the next election is to have a fractured mandate," Jaitley said here today while exuding confidence that the BJP with the support of NDA allies will be able to form the next government at the Centre.

"If you have a fractured mandate tough decisions are not possible. If you have a clear mandate, the government is strong enough and it can take tough decisions," he said. He noted that coalition government will be there, but such governments with a large nucleus will only be able to survive and not those with a small nucleus.
