Why Nachiappan wants to contest from Siva
March 18, 2014  16:58
Union Minister Dr Sudharshan Nachiappan has written to AICC chief Sonia Gandhi expressing his desire to contest from the Sivagana parliamentary constituency.

In his letter, he has assured the Congress President that he will win the seat. In fact, it was Nachiappan who defeated P Chidambaram in the same Sivagana Lok Sabha seat. Nachiappan's effort is also to ensure that nobody from Chidambaram's family is given a Lok Sabha seat.

Congress sources have said Chidambaram would want his son Karthi to replace him in Sivaganga but the final word on the passing of the baton would depend on the leadership.
