Explosion, building collapse in Manhattan

Firefighters have just arrived at the scene of a possible building collapse at East 116th St. and Park Ave, reports nydailynews.com

The massive explosion and fire was reported at Manhattan's East Harlem.

A Fire Department spokesman said the first call about the possible collapse at 9:31 a.m. at 1646 Park Ave.

Images from the scene show a roaring fire and smoke billowing high above Harlem. Metro-North service was suspended in both directions.
