Union home secretary Anil Goswami calls emergency meeting over the Chhattisgarh incident. The IB director, senior paramilitary officials and home minstry officials will be at the meeting. Home minister Sushilkumar Shinde says the government is taking the incident very seriously.

The purpose of the meeting is to form an action plan to step up security in these areas in the run up to the Lok Sabha polls.
