Glossy pope weekly hits the stands in Italy

A magazine named My Pope ("Il mio papa") -- billed as the "first weekly in the world dedicated to Pope Francis" -- was launched today by Silvio Berlusconi's publishing group Mondadori.

The 60-page gossip-style magazine boasts tantalizing details on the Holy Father's week and is stuffed full of photographs of the 77-year-old Argentine at work, capturing instants such as the moment his skullcap flew off in the wind or he was hugged by a child who climbed on his papal chair.

The Vatican has not commented on the new publication, which has gone on sale for 50 euro cents (USD 0.68) in Italy.
