Delhi HC stays release of Gulaab Gang

The Delhi HC has stayed the release of of Gulaab Gang starring Madhuri Dixit and Juhi Chawla. The film cannot be released in censored or uncensored form, the HC said. The film is set for release on March 7.

The order comes in the wake of activist Sampat Pal moving the Delhi High Court today for blocking the release of of the film, which is reportedly based on her life. Pal formed Gulabi Gang, a group of pink sari clad women vigilantes from Uttar Pradesh. Pal has said the filmmakers did not take permission from her to make the film.
