10 crore more voters in 2014 than in 2009

Sampath says the Election Commission had held a series of meetings including those with representatives of recognised political parties on February 4. During the meetings the parties raised a wide range of issues relating to security, election expenditure.

Few participants were highlighting the need for holding elections in phased manner.

He says there are 10 crore more voters in 2014 than in 2009. A total of 81.4 crore voters in this polls.
