Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi is holding an interaction with rickshaw pullers, which is being broadcast live on TV news channels, as part of the party's poll campaign in Uttar Pradesh.

Gandhi has fielded a number of questions and grievances from the rickshaw pullers about the corrupt officials who issue rations cards, the high 'rent' paid by them to the vehicle's owners and not making enough money to support their families.

"We don't earn enough to feed our families, to educate our children. I am ill but I can't afford healthcare," one of them said to Gandhi.

Another member of the audience told him that he earned only Rs 100 per day, which was not enough to provide even daal chawal for his family.

He added, "Hum garib toh har jagah dhakka khaate hain (poor people are pushed around everywhere).
