Finally, admissions to three-year Delhi university course to begin soon
June 27, 2014  13:35
The standoff between the UGC and the Delhi University had forced around 60 colleges in Delhi to put admissions on hold, leaving nearly three lakh students beginning college this year stranded.

The UGC, the central funding agency that coordinates college education policies, had said the four-year course went against the format followed in the rest of India and the Delhi University should admit new students only on a three-year system.

The university had called the UGC's order a violation of its autonomy.

Today, the Delhi University wrote to the UGC that it was "in the process of drafting a response in accordance with the spirit of your directives to ensure that the admission process starts very soon."
