Technical fault, says rail minister Gowda

Railway Minister Sadananda Gowda said there was no confirmation about what caused the derailment. This is the first train accident since the NDA government came to power.

Gowda said the bandh call given by Maoists in the area could not be co-related to the derailment. A thorough investigation has been ordered into the incident, and for now, a 'technical fault' is believed to have caused the incident.
