Eli Wallach, the 'Ugly' passes away

Actor Eli Wallach, who played The Ugly in the 1966 classic Western film The Good, The Bad And The Ugly, passed away on June 24. He was 98. The Good was played by Clint Eastwood while Lee Van Cleef played The Bad. The film was directed by Sergio Leone.

Wallach is survived by his wife Anne Jackson and children. He was also famous for his role in John Sturges' 1960 film The Magnificent Seven, where he played the antagonist.

Wallach starred in more than 90 films including The Lineup, The Misfits, How To Steal A Million, The Godfather: Part III and Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps and more recently, The Holiday.
