'Several nurses in Tikrit want to stay back'

MEA spokes Syed Akbaruddin, says India is willing to work with every individual or organisation who wishes to assist with this difficult situation. He refused to divulge operational details about who India was talking with in terms of hostage negotiation. The 40 abducted Indians are construction workers from Punjab. 

Akbaruddin said the government was in touch with the 46 Indian nurses holed up in Tikrit, and several had said they would prefer to stay back in Iraq.
