Family of Delhi cop killed in road rage gets Rs 1 cr compensation

Delhi Lt. Governor Najeeb Jung has sanctioned Rs 1 crore to the family of a police constable who was run over by a car while on duty in the capital.

Earlier, AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal wrote a letter to Jung, requesting Rs 1 crore as compensation to the family.

Constable Manna Ram was run over by a car Saturday evening when he tried to stop it from entering a "no entry zone" in west Delhi. Jung said the government will explore the possibility of extending all help to the family and a job, subject to fulfilling certain requirements.

The government had earlier announced Rs 10 lakh compensation to his family.
