Aaghaz Foundation, a Lucknow-based charity organisation, has announced the setting up of an educational scholarship for Rs 2 lakh in memory of the 24-year-old techie Mohsin Sadiq Shaikh, who was killed in an incident of hate crime in Pune last week.

The scholarship, to be called Mohsin Memorial Scholarship, will be given annually to a Muslim student pursuing a career in information technology, reports twocircles.net

"Mohsin came from a humble background and had ordinary dreams and aspirations. By constituting a scholarship in his name we want to keep his memory alive and brighten the life of somebody else with the same dreams," the website quoted a founding member of Aaghaz Foundation as saying.

Those who will to apply for the scholarship, or those who may wish to contribute to it, may write to aaghaz.foundation@gmail.com, marking the mail with the subject line,  'Mohsin Memorial'.

Established in 2004, Aaghaz is a zero-expense community initiative that has impacted the lives of thousands of children who were on the verge of dropping out of school, twocircles.net said.
