No arrests yet! Facebook photos case cracked: Maha govt
June 09, 2014  16:30
NDTV reports: The Maharashtra government today said it has identified those responsible for posting morphed photos of iconic leaders on Facebook, and has promised arrests.

Last week, a 24-year-old Muslim IT worker was beaten to death by a mob after offensive images of Maratha warrior king Shivaji and Shiv Sena leader Bal Thackeray were circulated on Facebook and WhatsApp.

Maharashtra Home Minister RR Patil today said that the "Facebook case" has been cracked and that all the incendiary images are being posted by the same group. He also said that the Centre has not sought a report on the violence from the state government.

Mr Patil also alleged that a deliberate attempt was being made to create trouble in the city and in others parts of Maharashtra.
