Maha govt allocates funds for Shivaji memorial

Ahead of the Assembly polls, the Maharashtra government today announced the allocation of substantial funds to build memorials of its icons, including that of the warrior king Shivaji.  "The state government has decided to construct Shahu Maharaj monument at the Shahu Textile Mill premises in Kolhapur. A budget provision of Rs 3.50 crore has been made in the current financial year to start the work," deputy CM Ajit Pawar said.
