Four trapped in building roof collapse in Howrah

Four residents, including two women, were feared trapped in an old four-storey buildingafter a portion of its roof collapsed, at Salkia in Howrah district of West Bengal today.

Fire brigade sources, said the four were trapped after the debris from the collapsed roof blocked the stairs. The other residents of the building at 10 Sitanath Bose Lane were rescued, they said.

There was no casualty or injury, the sources said. Firemen were trying to evacuate the four with the help of ladders of the two fire tenders, the sources said. Local people were helping in the rescue operation, they added.
