A five-member delegation from the BJP is in riot-hit Saharanpur, on a fact-finding mission. Suresh Rana, who is part of the team says, the state govt (Akhilesh Yadav's Samajwadi Party govt) has failed completely, rioting went on for hours but no action was taken.

Three people were killed and 24 were injured in riots that broke out in the district on July 26. An uneasy calm has since prevailed in Saharanpur where 38 people were arrested as a political blame game erupted with the BJP accusing the SP of indulging in "vote-bank politics" and the Congress blasting the Uttar Pradesh government for "lapses".
