High drama in Delhi, police detain UPSC protestors

The vehement protests by Union Public Service Commission aspirants demanding the scrapping of Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) continues today with the police detaining several protestors.

MoS PMO Jitendra Singh speaking on the UPSC language issue in Parliament asks why were there no protests when the changes were made in 2010. 

Yesterday, after an evening of high drama in the national capital where over 20 students were arrested during their protests, the demonstrators said that they will march to Parliament on Friday.

There has been a demand to scrap the CSAT calling it discriminatory against students from the Hindi medium.

A three-member committee is looking into the demands of civil services aspirants who have been demanding that the pattern for the Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) be changed to give level-playing field to those coming from rural areas. Read more
